  i remember the jw view of martial arts being cemented in my head when i asked my mother at the age of 6 if i could take karate.

  the look of horror on her face.

  she told me it was violent and jws could not practice violence.

  I studied Tae Kwon Do when I was younger. Then we moved and I started over in Shotokan Karate. Then I had to quit if I wanted to get baptized.
  
  Now, many years later, I'm learning Wado-Kai Karate. Tonight I'm being tested; hopefully I'll come home with my third yellow belt. As much as I enjoy it, I think I'm getting too old for this sort of activity. I don't recover from the bangs and bruises like I used to.

  there are many in the wtbts who partake and profess to be of the anointed, there is, in truth, however, no true anointed in the wtbts.

  one poster stated that because the harlot was riding the beast it proved she was in control of the beast.

  now, i grew up on a farm and we had all sorts of animals.

  For the record I should say, I view the e-watchman site as entertainment. You just never know what they might say over there.
  
  Steve, in my experience, many of the animals would tolerate someone on their back until they tired of it. It still didn't equate with control.

  Now, I grew up on a farm and we had all sorts of animals. Many of them big enough to tempt a kid to try and ride. In my experience, being on the back of and being in control of an animal were not the same thing. Even with the horses, after training and with riding equipment, it was quite often debatable as to who was in control.
  
  Regardless of what you think of the book of Revelation (or Bible), do you think it can be stated with such certainty that the Harlot is in control?

  Neil Diamond's "I Am...I Said" and "Brooklyn Roads". When I first heard them I was a teen and my home life was in a turmoil. These two songs seem to resonate with what was happening in my life. When I hear them now they have a bittersweet quality for me, reminding me of both the good and the sad.

  i just want to know how many people from canada are here.
